Two current Saints players will be suspended, but the Packers and Browns will also suffer a bit, for the roles of some of their current players in past seasons.

Not surprisingly, Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma was hit the hardest. Vilma had reportedly offered tens of thousands of dollars out of his own pocket for players who injured opponents, and will now sit out an entire season.

Saints defensive end Will Smith will miss four games.

Packers defensive tackle Anthony Hargrove, who played for the Saints from in 2009 and 2010, was suspended 8 games.

Browns linebacker Scott Fujita (on the Saints from 2006-2009) was suspended 3 games.

Fujita is entering his 3rd season with the Browns, so they certainly couldn't have seen this coming, but the Packers should have been (and probably were) aware of the risk involving Hargrove when they signed him.

All of the suspensions can be appealed, and we'll keep you posted on that as more details emerge.
