Jun 16, 2014; Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, BRAZIL; United States forward Jozy Altidore (17) grabs his leg with an injury during the second half of their 2014 World Cup game against Ghana at Estadio das Dunas. Mandatory Credit: Winslow Townson-USA TODAY SportsUS star Jozy Altidore will miss the upcoming game against Portugal, and most likely the group stage finale against Germany as well.

The Americans will have to advance to the next round if they hope to see Altidore back on the pitch, after he went off with an injury during their 2-1 win over Ghana.

The chances of beating Portugal look strong, with Cristiano Rinaldo hobbled a bit as well, and Portugal struggled greatly in their opening 4-0 loss to Germany.

Otherwise, the United States is pretty healthy. Clint Dempsey may wear a mask to protect the broken nose he suffered against Ghana, but he's not in jeopardy of missing the match.

Altidore hasn't exactly been lighting it up on the pitch in terms of scoring goals but he is definitely a player that a defense has to keep an eye on
