Manchester United manager David Moyes is keen on bringing in new midfielders. The Scotsman has so far failed to convince Barcelona stars Thiago Alcantara and Cesc Fabregas to join him at Old Trafford. Now, reports suggest David Moyes is interested in signing Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio.

Claudio Marchisio has been linked with a switch to Manchester United in recent weeks. However, the Premier League champions are being challenged by Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco.

Juventus director Beppe Marotta insists Claudio Marchisio will not be sold this summer, although Monaco are ready to break their banks for the 27-year-old Italy international. The midfielder is currently serving his country at the Confederations Cup in Brazil.

Claudio Marchisio has already announced that he is willing to explore his options abroad. This means he could hand in a transfer request if an attractive deal is offered. Meanwhile, Beppe Marotta insists Claudia Marchisio has been a huge asset to Juventus and the club wouldn’t agree to selling him off.

“We won't sell him,” Beppe Marotta told calciomercato. “It seems to me that the clearest demonstration about Marchisio's importance to Juventus was the contract renewal we signed in September 2012 until June 2017 which changed his salary.

“We would only review the situation if a sensational offer arrived that wasn't in line with the market and that, until this moment, hasn't arrived.”

Juventus midfielder Emanuele Giaccherini also appears to be going nowhere. The Italian player’s agent Furio Valcareggi claims Emanuele Giaccherini is happy with his stay in Turin and has no reason to leave the Serie A champions.

“His future will definitely be at Juventus,” Furio Valcareggi told calciomercato. “There has never been even a half problem with Juventus and there is no reason for him to leave. We haven't discussed a [contract] renewal yet, but that is also because there is no urgency to seeing as he still has two years left on his contract.

“Boss Antonio Conte is satisfied with him and the boy is very happy with the Bianconeri. He has won two Scudetti in two seasons, collecting more than 20 appearances in the last campaign. We have to be happy with that.”
