Kansas City Chiefs contending to be the best in the entire NFL
In the NFL, there are certain things that are predictable. Most teams have almost win/loss ratios and the only confirmed win can be against the Jacksonville Jaguars. But the Chiefs were just as bad a year ago.
The Chiefs finished 2-14 only a year ago and their offense was non-existent. Then they decided they had to do something. They revamped almost the entire franchise with a new coach, new quarterback, general manager and coaching staff. This means that the team this year is quite new. There are 30 new names in the team’s roster this year and they are getting along swimmingly. Come to think that they are 8-0 now; they have certainly come a long way.
They have proven that they more than just good. They are striving not only to be the best there is but the best they can be. Their defence does an excellent job and the quarterback Alex Smith gets the offense going well and leaves few options for mistakes.
Even so, they aren’t the most popular team right now. People generally have a hard time believing that a team so ragtag a year ago is undefeated and are not Super Bowl favourites. The pros done think that they have what it takes to enter the NFL elite. Even with the latest win against the Cleveland Browns, the critics are still there. The Browns aren’t a pro team and still managed to stay in the fight until the very last minutes when they fell apart and the Chiefs claimed the match 23-17.
The Chiefs know their weaknesses and don’t need anyone to point them out. With no track record from over the years, they are unpredictable and survival in the playoffs cannot be predicted.
For now, they are doing great. With a season winning streak, they will surely get some more people on their side. So said their linebacker Derrick Johnson.
‘‘The best you can be right now is 8-0 and that’s where we’re at. Everybody’s going to give us their best,” he said. “We know that. If we can take that punch and keep rolling, that’s what we did today. It wasn’t pretty, but a ‘W’ sure does look good.’’
