Karl Malone Joins Utah Jazz Staff
It was one year ago on TNT, when Karl Malone asked the TNT crew why his former team, the Utah Jazz, wouldn’t even attempt to help out their talented, but young big men. Malone, however, just announced this past Tuesday that he would help out Utah’s big men on a part-time basis.
Jazz CEO, Greg Miller, said to Malone, “I think your involvement with our bigs is going to help us win more ball games.”
The bigs that Miller is referring to are Enes Kanter and Derrick Favors. Both Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap are free agents and the Jazz may only keep one of the two. They are far more interested in developing the talents of Kanter and Favors, who they hope will be the building blocks of their future.
If Utah can utilize their big’s the right way, there is no reason why they cannot imitate the grit and grind of a Memphis Grizzlies who went all the way to the Western Conference Finals this year; something the Utah Jazz have not experienced, since the days of Karl Malone.
