Now that the Sacramento Kings are staying in Sacramento, their next piece of business will be to address their vacant general manager position, a position that may be extended to TNT analyst, Kenny Smith.
Smith recently said, “We've been talking; we've been talking. That's all I'm going to say."
But Smith went on to say that, "I've been winning my whole life," Smith said. "I've been blessed to be a winner. So whatever happens, whatever I do, I'm going to win an Emmy next year or I'm going to try to win an NBA championship or I'm going to try to win in cards. I'm a winner. I'm a winner. I've been blessed in my whole life, so I think I have a clear vision."
If Smith does go on to be the general manager of the Sacramento Kings, he will have a roster full of young talent, but an insufficient amount of veterans and basketball know-how. However, Smith’s understanding of the modern game and modern players, certainly gives him the capability of landing the Kings job.
The sad news for basketball viewers is that, if Smith does take the job, he will no longer be on TNT any more. And if Smith makes his exodus next season, it’s very possible that Charles Barkley, who has already talked about leaving, may depart with him as well.
