Kentucky 42, Arkansas 29: How Good Are the Wildcats?
by CriticalFanatic

There's a bar down the street from my apartment called Bourbon. Appropriately, it's a "Kentucky Wildcats Bar" and I can still hear the revelry from here. It's as packed as I've ever seen the place, and for good reason, Kentucky fans just might have themselves a football team.

How good are the Wildcats? Well, let's hope our genius friends at the AP at least put Kentucky ahead of Louisville, and now Arkansas.

They gave up 338 yards rushing to the Hogs, far from a crime considering the ammo, but the official Heisman trophy candidate Andre' Woodson threw for 265 with several clutch passes in the 4th for a 42-29 victory over a solid team.

Where are you going to have Kentucky this week? Florida must go to Lexington so I'm not counting them out of the East.

The beauty of college football is that one single great talent like Andre Woodson can make a team play far better than they are capable of.  I think this team has the chance to beat any team it plays at home or at a nuetral site.

I totally agree with everything you said.  I am from Kentucky and I watch all their games and its apparent to me that this team actually believes from week to week that they can win a football game....and that is saying a lot about the football program.  I will agree though, the play of Andre' Woodson is AMAZING right now and the offense is clicking on all cylinders.  Who would have thought that Kentucky would be 4-0 at this point in the season and average 40+ ppg.....NO ONE AT ALL!  I mean, UK, FLorida, and LSU all are 4-0 with 40+ ppg average.  As for how good the offense is, a lot will hinge on if Rafael Little is good enough to go on Saturday since he was banged up most of the 2nd half against Arkansas.  I mean, in the next four games, Uk has to play Florida Atlantic, at South Carolina, LSU, and Florida......with the games of LSU and Florida being played at Lexington.  I honestly think that LSU will be the best team they play all year and if they were to pull off that upset, would be the best all year.  Also, with the problems Florida had against Ole Miss yesterday, Kentucky has a legitimate shot to do something if Woodson, Little, Tamme, and Burton are healthy!  All I know is that the Big Blue have made me a believer and I am gonna ride this wave of emotion and victory as long as I can!

Also, I think that people need to start to recognize Andre' Woodson as a legitimate contender for the Heisman right now!  He may not be putting up huge numbers, but he is willing his team to victories and in the toughest conference in america.  Not to mention, the Wildcats have knocked off 2 quality opponents in consecutive weeks against Louisville and Arkansas.  Well, all I can say is I love my team and GO WILDCATS!!

Once Kentucky plays some real defenses in the SEC they will come back to earth, I still think they will lose 5 games. (@ South Carolina, vs. LSU, vs. Florida, @ Georgia, vs. Tennessee)

We have more resiliancy, desire, and more leadership than any U of Kentucky Football Team before us.  We know we will win insteading of hoping we can win.  That's the major difference.

I think we will still beat at least 1 or 2 or even possibly 3 more teams that we shouldn't beat.  I can't predict exactly which ones but I would absolutely be shocked if we didn't at least beat 1 of them.

To me the only thing that can stop us is injuries.  We still have way, way too many of them IMHO.   That's been a common problem for us in the last few seasons, because I know we can win with a physically healthy team.

First of all though we need to think about Florida Atlantic and Florida Atlantic alone.  FAU beat Minnesota so they are more than capable of pulling an upset if we take them too lightly.

I don't think we will though because of the just fantastic leadership on our team.

I don't agree with that statement at all!  UK is a hell of a team right now and they have beaten two great teams in two weeks and both were defeated with a Heisman candidate at their centerpiece.  I don't think they will lose to South Carolina, Georgia, or Tennessee.  The only two teams I am worried about is LSU and Florida.  I think that UK will have a very tough time against LSU and I think they will be the toughest team they face all year.  I would be really suprised if they were to upset them.  As for Florida, I think they have a shot to beat them.  I mean, Ole Miss came close this weekend and UK has a much better offense than Ole Miss does.  Plus, the big X-Factor for the games against LSU and Florida is that they are playing at Commenwealth Stadium in Lexington.  All I know is that they are resilient and that Andre' Woodson will continue to be that rock at QB that every team needs!  All I can say is GO CATS!!

No they haven't; they have beating to VASTLY overrated teams with no defenses. Kentucky will finish 7-5, they have yet to face a real defense and once they do they will lose, book it.
