Kentucky Wildcat fans don’t usually have a lot to look forward to when it comes to football, but new head coach Mark Stoops is certainly doing his best to change that.Blog Photo - Kentucky Football: Wildcats add 4-star ATH Ryan Timmons

Four-star ATH Ryan Timmons from Frankfort (KY) announced this afternoon that he will sign with UK, despite late offers from Ohio State and Florida.

"Next year I will be playing at the University of Kentucky," Timmons told students and media in a packed Franklin County gym. “Being wanted and being needed are two different things. It's better to be wanted. …It just shows how much they care.”

Timmons, who is likely to become a running back at the collegiate level, is listed as the No. 4 prospect in the state of Kentucky by 247Sports.

He will need to add size to his 5-foot-11, 180-pound frame to compete in the SEC, but his 4.40 second 40-yard dash and pure athletic ability proves that he has what it takes to contribute early.

Stoops now has 21 commits for the recruiting class of 2013, including two four-star and 13 three-star prospects.

Timmons was also offered by Arkansas, Purdue, Western Kentucky and California.
