It was a dream rivalry match-up, both teams going into the game with a record of 12-1. Alas, the mirrored records couldn't last, and with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and his 24 points leading the team, the victor was Kentucky.

It wasn't the back-and-forth you'd expect in such a heated rivalry game. Kentucky took the lead very early and kept it until early in the second half when the Cardinals tied it up at 40. However, the tie was short-lived, and the Wildcats took control of the game with 7 unanswered points. They kept that control until the final buzzer, winning the game 69-62.

With the win, the Wildcats keep their streak of wins at home alive with 44 straight, which is the nation's longest (Duke has 43).
