The Kentucky Wildcats begin their season Friday against Marist, but are already lighting up the scoreboard. Kentucky, number 2 in the nation, defeated Morehouse in an exhibition game 125-40. Terrence Jones scored 22 points for the Wildcats and five starters made their first 26 shots, going on separate runs of 10-0, 16-0 and 29-0 and forcing Morehouse into 18 first-half turnovers. At halftime, the Wildcats led 74-13.
Kentucky’s largest margin of victory in a game that counted is 77 against Georgia in 1956. The Wildcats shot 73 percent from the field, with Freshman Kyle Witjer scoring 26 points, Anthony Davis 21, Doron Lamb 12, Teague 12, Darius Miller 11 and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist 11. Eloy Vargas led the Kentucky with 12 rebounds.
