Blog Photo - Kevin Durant signs with Jay-Z's Roc NationJay-Z's fledgling sports representation agency Roc Nation Sports just got a little less fledgling with the addition of Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant. Durant signed with Roc Nation and tweeted the news to the world earlier today.

In fact, you can see Jay-Z and Durant signing their Roc Nation Sports contract in the image at left. You would think millionaires like Kevin Durant and Jay-Z would have nicer cameras on their smartphones, but I suspect that these days Jay-Z is probably contractually obliged to use a Samsung phone for everything no matter what.

Roc Nation Sports announced today that Jay-Z's sports agency has signed Kevin Durant. Durant joins New York Yankees infielder Robinson Cano, New York Jets rookie quarterback Geno Smith, and No. 3 overall WNBA draft pick Skylar Diggins as part of the Roc Nation stable.

The catch here is that Roc Nation will represent Durant only in his marketing pursuits -- Durant currently has marketing deals with Nike, Sprint, Gatorade, Panini. Skullcandy headphones, BBVA and 2K Sports. Roc Nation is rumored to be signing Nww York Giants receiver Victor Cruz to a similar "marketing only" representation deal.

Durant remains with Creative Artists Agency in terms of his NBA contract negotiations. Durant is signed with Oklahoma City through the 2015-16 NBA season, so he has no need for NBA contract negotiations for the next three years.
