Kobe Bryant crumbled to the floor late in the fourth quarter of a victory over the Golden State Warriors, and immediately grabbed his ankle. The injury, perhaps the worst of his career, is suspected to be an Achilles tear in Bryant’s left foot.
The 34-year-old Lakers’ great managed to recover just enough to sink two free-throws before hobbling off the court and heading straight to the locker room. Los Angeles was able to hold of the Warriors and move into a full-game lead over the Utah Jazz for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
Bryant has played over 3,000 minutes this season and was on pace to log his most playing time since 2005.
