Blog Photo - Kobe Bryant injures achilles tendon, could miss the rest of the seasonKobe Bryant was injured during last night's game against the Golden State Warriors, and could be out for over a year if it's a ruptured Achilles tendon.

He'll have an MRI today, but if it's the Achilles, there's a chance that it could mean the end of his career, depending on how badly he wants to rehabilitate and return to the NBA.

If he has indeed torn his Achilles, it would take over a year to recover.

At 36 years old and already starting to decline, can Kobe make a full recovery and come back to the league as a superstar?

Assuming this injury is as serious as the Lakers believe, it's unlikely that he'll ever be an MVP caliber player again. Between the injuries and Father Time, things are starting to catch up to Kobe.

There's always a chance that he battles back and plays a couple more seasons, a la Peyton Manning and his neck injury, but there's a solid chance that we may have just witnessed the end of an era.

There has already been rumors that the year after this was going to be his last.  Given how competitive Bryant is though, I could see him trying to fight his way back to give it one more go around.  The problem is I don't necessarily know if his body will let him
