When asked how he would have reacted if someone did that to him, Kobe Bryant
Not a bad idea, I suppose, but that probably would have resulted in Kobe getting kicked out of the game... which is more than what happened to Ibaka.
Despite what looked like a pretty obvious malicious shot to the groin, Ibaka just got a flagrant 1, meaning the Clippers got two foul shots and the ball, but then Ibaka was allowed to stay in the game, making a few key plays late in the game including drawing Griffin's 6th foul.
The Lakers play the Thunder tonight, and they're ready for Ibaka's antics. He's always been a physical player, and they're even more prepared for that, after seeing what he did to Griffin.
Dwight Howard pretty much summed it up: "I mean, you got to wear a cup."
We'll see if Ibaka does anything like this against the Lakers, and perhaps we'll also see if Kobe follows through and smacks him in the mouth.
This, as with the rest of their games, is a huge game for the Lakers. They're currently at .500, still 2 games out of a playoff spot with 22 games to play. They've been at pretty much that exact point for a while... struggling to improve their position and simply not playing all that well.
They'll have to step it up if they want to make the playoffs, and a win against the Thunder would be a good start. Let's just hope no one gets smacked in the mouth in the process.
