36 new NBAers were asked who their favorite player in the league and Bryant led the pack with 21.2 percent. LeBron James was second with 15.2 percent and Kevin Durant tied Dirk Nowitzki at 12.1 percent each.

That’s kind of surprising since Carmelo Anthony leads the league in the most popular jersey sales.

In voting, the rookies couldn’t vote for themselves, or any teammates both in college or the NBA.

It would be interesting to see if their favorite player correlated to a player who they wanted to play with in the the league. Bryant has a rep for people not wanting to team up with him, like Dwight Howard, but maybe these younger kids think differently since it’s clear he’s at the end of his career.
