Kobe Bryant wants to be traded again? Don't call It a flop.
READ MORE:
According to latimes.com, Kobe Bryant has again expressed his desire to be traded from the Lakers, this time in a meeting with team owner Jerry Buss in Spain.

The NBA may have enough problems with flopping, but I'm not sure if Kobe apparently going from "Trade me," to "Laker for life," to "Trade me," can be counted among them. Hear me out. I believe Bryant claims that the Lakers expressed to him a commitment to winning now when he resigned with the team in 2004. Lakers officials, to my knowledge, don't dispute that. I imagine that this commitment was restated when Kobe first asked for a trade earlier in the offseason.

If recent reports about the Lakers' attempts to make deals are accurate, then Bryant has a reason to question the team's commitment to winning now. Yesterday, latimes.com reported on LA's lack of progress in trade talks. Apparently, a reluctance to give up Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum has kept the Lakers from acquiring Jermaine O'Neal and Troy Murphy, and LA nixed a pursuit of Marcus Camby when they found out they would have to offer more than Kwame Brown.

Seriously? I understand that Bynum may be a pretty good player in the future. I understand that Odom is a good player and provides crucial ballhandling for the Lakers, who lack a developed point guard.  But L.A. is supposed to be committed to winning now, right? Can they really not take the loss of Bynum's future and Odom's value in favor of a true star post-player and a decent role-player? Resign Luke Walton (good passer, well-regarded basketball IQ) and let him handle the ball more; I think maybe he, Kobe, JO, Murphy and Jordan Farmar could figure it out offensively.

In fairness, I haven't dealt with the financial aspects involved. Still, I'm not sure if the Lakers are really showing a desire to win now. The NBA may have too many players flopping, but perhaps some teams have floppers in the front office too.

Hmm...without wanting to be seen as a Kobe fanatic, I'll say this: Dallas could use the competitiveness of a guy like Bryant.

Anyone who says they don't wat a Kobe bryant joing their team is crazy. And i am not a kobe fan. But bring him to Cleveland, so long as we don't have to give up Lebron, I'll take him, buy his jerseys, shoes and anything else.

The only way Dallas would get Kobe is by trading Dirk... I'd rather have Dirk that Kobe.

Because of the lack of any other low post prsence in Dallas I agree, snding Dirk for Kobe would be a step or two backward. But Dallas can create a package and keep Dirk with bringing in Kobe. I'm sure you wouldn't mind that.

There are a few people I would rather have in Dallas. Dirk, Jason Terry, and Harris. I wouldn't care if we got rid of Stackhouse (Who, would probably do pretty well in LA), or a few of the other guys who could succeed there. Dampier, Diop, etc. I don't know what LA would want for Kobe, but I'm sure it would have to be a 2 for 1 deal.

2 for 1 pr possibly a 3 or 4 team trade to get the players they want. I beleive that any trade involving Kobe will be at least a 3 team trade. I like Jason Terry and I love the game of Devin harris (a big ten alum). He has that toughness you can't build in a gym you know. In any case having him along side dirk would mkae it closeto impossible to double either one and who can deal with Dirk and/or Kobe one on one? I wouldn't want to have to gameplan against that. Of course there is always room for him in Cleveland and we have the player with the salary to get it done. Anybody want a often hurt, poor jump shooting point guard who loooks like a 2 guard but is useless come playoff time?

Dirk doesn't make waves as much as Kobe, which I guess has its positives and negatives, including on the court.

Are you serious? I would take the guy who is deserving of the MVP like Kobe and trade the guy who didnt show up at all in the playoffs and gave away to an 8th seeded Warriors team.

Thats fine to say you want to keep Dirk, but why in the hell would anybody not want the best player in the game today( Kobe Bryant) On their team.

Ok... that makes this fun then...

I never said I wouldn't take Kobe on the team. I said I wouldn't trade Dirk for him. That being said, there's people that will agree and those that won't. As long as we get him for the right price, then I don't have a problem with him.

Ok, I see. I probably would trade Dirk for Kobe, but as long as you would take Kobe. The way you worded it earlier, I thought you didnt want him at all LOL.

Yeah. I worded it wrong. My bad.

Regardless, I don't have feelings for Kobe.,. actually, I do. Bad ones. I can't fathom a ball hog on the team... but, would having more talent around him change him at all? If it would, and he would stop running his mouth... I suppose I could learn to deal with him.
