The NBA has tried all sorts of things to improve it’s All-Star Weekend; from it’s failed attempt at the game of H-O-R-S-E to its outrageous histrionics in the slam dunk competition.  But what it hasn’t tried yet is a simple game of 1-on-1.
Kyrie Irving has recently challenged Kobe Bryant to a game of 1-on-1 for $50,000.  The winner gets to have their money donated to their own favorite charity.

Kyrie:  “This is not a high school kid going, Kobe, Kobe, Oh my God! "  He thinks he's talking to a high school kid."
Kobe:  "You just came out of high school, kid!"

Kyrie:  "You're going to have to guard, you're not going to lock me up.  You think you’re playing Little Bow-Wow?”
Kobe:  "Your about the same size.  You're going to need a pick to get me off you, sonny.

Kobe:  "Easy money, easy money.”
The details of the 1-on-1 matchup have not been disclosed.  But knowing Kyrie and his Uncle Drew videos, this isn’t going to be done in private.  It’s too good of a match-up not to share with the public.  And if all goes well, who knows, maybe the All-Star Weekend will start implementing 1-on-1 games as well.
