Liverpool’s latest signing Kolo Toure has warned Luis Suarez of joining his former club Arsenal. The veteran believes Luis Suarez will have a better chance of acquiring silverware and other major honors if the striker chooses to extend his stay at Anfield.
Arsenal have turned out to be the frontrunners for the Liverpool star this summer, although Chelsea, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are still interested in a swoop for the Uruguayan star.
Kolo Toure believes Luis Suarez should settle down at Liverpool since the Merseyside club will be able contend for trophies next season. Meanwhile, Luis Suarez has expressed desire to play in the Champions League and is keen on moving away from the Reds this summer.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger placed a €30 million bid on Luis Suarez last week, but his attempt to steal the striker from Liverpool was shot down. Arsenal have now placed a €35 million bid on the striker, who has been tagged with a price tag of €50 million by Liverpool.
Liverpool are expected reject Arsenal’s latest bid as well, but they could be interested if a swap deal plus cash was offered. The notorious striker has to serve a 10-match ban for biting the arm of Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, so Liverpool will be forced to bring their price down.
The ambitious Real Madrid could swoop in as well. The imminent departure of Gonzalo Higuain will leave a void in their attacking department. The new boss of Santiago Bernabeu, Carlo Ancelotti is admittedly an avid fan of Luis Suarez, which is why a bid from Real Madrid can be expected in the following days.
Kolo Toure has asked Luis Suarez to step away from an away move and prepare for the new season with Liverpool. The former Manchester City center-back as Luis Suarez to be patient and trust in the Reds.
"Luis Suarez does not need to leave to fulfill his ambitions,” Kolo Toure was quoted by The Guardian. “If he stays here he will have more chances to win trophies.
“This club is definitely prepared. The organization, the mentality of the players and the staff. It's amazing. It's a top professional club. Luis is a great player, a fantastic player. He is a massive player for Liverpool.
“I have played against Suarez and he is a fantastic player, one you would want on your side, but in the end it will be up to the club to decide what they think is best for everybody.”
