Kyle Busch Wrecks Dale Earnhardt Jr. At Richmond With 3 Laps To Go

Kyle Busch May Be Dead By The Time You Read This Post
5/4/08

I may not watch a ton of NASCAR, but I know a little bit about driving. After all, I have a driver's license.

And I know that the move Kyle Busch pulled on Dale Jr. Saturday night in Richmond was, how do I phrase this, not good. What made it particularly bad as well was that Dale Jr. appeared to be on the verge of ending his 71-race winless streak, but he instead ended up in 15th after the crash while Busch finished second.

Naturally the classy Dale Jr. fanbase responded by pelting the racetrack with beers, but in all honesty, I can't say that I blame them.

The great thing is there's even more to this story, because you see Busch got into a bit of a scrape during the Friday night Nationwide Series race at Richmond with Steven Wallace. Busch complained about what was admittedly a cheap shot by Wallace, but he also gave this awesome quote during a post race interview:

"I'll wreck as many cars as it takes to win."

Unfortunately for Busch, he didn't manage to wreck Clint Bowyer, who won the race. But don't worry Kyle, I'm sure you'll have plenty of future opportunities to get your wreck on. That is of course provided you made it out of Richmond alive.

I'm so sick of Jr fans being chastised all because WE have Jr as our fav driver.  No other fan base gets attacked like Jr's does.  Rabid, ridiculously stupid?  That's such BS, we can pull for whichever team/driver/sport as passionately as we want, don't blame us if whoever your pulling for doesn't have as many or as vocal fans. That being sad, I was sick lastnight when that wreck happened, did I call for Kyle's head?  No, that's short track racing, did I find it a cheap shot, you better believe it.  I was more angry that Hamlin didn't get off the track when he knew his tire was ready to blow at anytime.  Jr at that time had a good lead and was on his way to victory, it was when the caution came out that I knew he may be in trouble, esp with it being a driver like Kyle behind him.  Everyone has seem Kyle's style, he is an aggressive driver, and yes, his tires did turn into Jr. I guess that was Jr's fault as well.  Can't wait for the Bristol race now, we have a great crowd, and they hate the Busch brothers there, I'm sure it's gonna be even louder with the hail of boos and other expletives, lol this fall.  Can't wait!
Anyone watching the afterrace has to admit, Jr is a class act!

The only reason this will get a ton of play is because Jr's fanbase is the most ridiculously stupid fanbase in all of sports.  That was a racing incident and Jr had just as much to do with it as Busch.  If you watch it slowly enough, Jr hit Busch before Busch ever moved to the right.

Edit: That characterization of the Jr fanbase may've been slightly unfair.
