Kyrie Irving Day-to-Day with Knee Contusion
Kyrie Irving felt a pop in his left knee during the third quarter against the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday. Fortunately, Wednesday’s MRI showed that it was just a left knee contusion.
"I thought the worst happened," Irving said. "I felt something pop in my knee. When I came back in, my left knee is pretty weak right now. I was falling all over the place. I didn't have my legs under me. It was a painful experience."
Irving is now listed day-to-day, but the Cavs will probably take a very cautious approach with Irving. Irving is quickly developing the reputation as an injury prone player, but if there is a silver lining to any of this, none of these injuries have anything to do with one other. Irving missed half the season at Duke due to a foot injury, he’s broken his hand after his rookie season, and he’s had a broken nose, fractured jaw, and a sprained shoulder. Irving’s relentlessness helps him get up every time he falls, but eventually, all of these nagging injuries may catch up to him some time in the future.
