After a successfully rookie season, tearing it up on the Olympic practice squad, and even challenging Kobe Bryant to a game of 1-on-1, Kryie Iriving will now be out of commission for the next 6-8 weeks.  Irving reportedly broke his hand after slapping the padding on the gym wall during a practice on Saturday morning.

This is the second time this past season and off-season that a player has injured his shooting hand because he punched or slapped something out of frustration.  Amare Stoudemire severely cut open his right hand during the playoffs after he punched the glass case of a fire extinguisher.

Irving will now get surgery, but should be ready by the start of training camp.
