If you were only going to watch one Saturday of college football this fall, you'd be wise to this one. #4 LSU Tigers vs #11 Florida Gators would be the marquee matchup every weekend, but it's merely one of several undercards on Saturday. At least for now. Tigers defensive tackle Ricky Jean-Francois is doing his best boxing-style pre-game trash talk hype, turning this SEC battle into a can't miss. Asked about his defense's strategy when they visit Gainesville, Jean-Francois made it very simple:
"If we get a good shot on (Tebow), we're going to try our best to take him out of the game,"He then added that if his defensive line does get a good hit on Tebow, the effect will be like "a car wreck without a seat belt."
Oh, it's on. Sadly, there's probably a lot of fans around the country who will be rooting for this so-called train wreck to happen, but even Jean-Francois was willing to admit it's not easy.
"With his size and his heart, it's hard to get a clean shot."
The unfortunate news is that the LSU DT did issue a slight apology on Tuesday, but I'm going to choose to ignore that, just as you can be sure Urban Meyer will when firing up his offensive line throughout this week.
This was already set up to be a statement game about whether Florida was physical enough to get through the rest of the SEC unscathed, but now LSU has upped the ante. Giddy up!
