Call them lucky, call them talented or just call them a team destined to win a national championship. I hope the Tigers aren't expecting any more breaks the rest of the way, whether they be favorable spots on 4th and 1 or late game turnovers bouncing right in their hands.

This year's Tigers may prove to be the ultimate subject discussion of whether it's luck that determines success or whether you create your own luck. I side with the latter.

Kansas remains undefeated, but who are you going to rank #2? LSU, Oregon? Few teams have more big wins than the Tigers.

I believe that no team wants LSU in New Orleans in January, not even Ohio State, who's only true test will be Michigan. Oregon was impressive, so we will see. If LSU does not make it to New Orleans then it is OSU's to lose if they get past Michigan. LSU has still got to make it through Louisiana Tech, Mississippi and Arkansas, then finally win the SEC Championship game. 3 of those 4 will be tough. Arkansas and The SEC championship game could give them that second loss. Way too tough a road? We will see.

Can LSU be anymore lucky? I still believe LSU is the second best team, Oklahoma is first, in the country, but how many breaks do you need to win a game? Parker-Wilson doesn't protect the ball when he is sacked and the ball hits the knee of an LSU player, the reversed catch for 40 something yards on a second a long against Bama, the other reversed call earlier in the second half, and probably a few others that weren't as noticeable. This LSU team could easily be 5-4 right now.

That game was horribly officiated. Alabama had a 41 yard pass play taken away after review. I didn't have a dog in the fight, and still I was furious about it. It was a spectacular catch by the Tide receiver, clearly with two hands around the ball and between the ball and the ground, and inexplicably they overturned the call and called it incomplete. What good is instant replay if they are going to take good calls and make them wrong? Like I said, I was outraged by it. Still am.

I had to give you and Bob a thumbs up for nothing more than making me feel better.

At the games, when a play is being reviewed by the officials, they don't show the instant replay on the jumbotron (so the refs won't get showed up? I don't know). But after both of those plays got reversed, my cell phone was ringing non stop by people telling me that they missed the call. Oh well.

No excuses here, though. It was a good game and the ~~better team won~~ team that made the last mistake lost.
