NBA Triple Threat: Your daily roundup of last night's action in the Association.
Atlanta 113 Chicago 108 Everyone please say hello to your Eastern Conference leaders... the Atlanta Hawks? That's right, the Atlanta Hawks (6-0) are off to their best start since 1998-199 when they started 11-0. Al Horford led the way with a career high 27 points and 17 rebounds while Mike Bibby showed why he was brought into Atlanta by scoring 22 points, including three three-pointers in the 4th quarter to help seal the victory. Joe Johnson had a poor shooting night going only 4-16 from the field but played the point-forward very well in dishing out 8 assists. Chicago entered the 4th quarter with a 2 point lead but the Hawks used a 34 point explosion to get the victory. On the plus side for the Bulls, Derrick Rose had his best game of his short career with 26 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, and only 3 turnovers. The Bulls dropped to 3-3 on the season.
Los Angeles Lakers 106 Dallas 99 The Lakers kept pace with the Hawks and improved their record to 6-0 with this victory over Dallas. The Lakers had to overcome a triple double from Jason Kidd, Erica Dampier having a monster double-double (11 and 16), and 55 combined points from Dallas's trio of guards, Stackhouse, Green, and Terry. Kobe Bryant scored 27 points but it was double-doubles from Pau (22 and 11) and Bynum (11 and 10) and 36 points from their bench that beat the Mavericks. Dallas has looked out of sync all season and their 2-5 record shows that. The Lakers on the other hand are 6-0 for the first time since 2001-2002, which just so happens to be the last time that they won the championship.
Golden St. 113 Minnesota 110 OT In the most exciting game of the night, the Warriors used 30 points from Stack Jack, including 6 in overtime, as the Warriors get their third win of the season. Jackson played 48 minutes as he continues to play the majority of every game as the young Warriors continue to grow and get better. Kelenna Azubuike, starting in place of the injured Corey Magette, played 49 minutes and scored 22 points while pulling down 8 rebounds. Andris Biedrins added 13 points and 16 rebounds in 43 minutes of action. Minnesota's All-Star, Al Jefferson scored 25 points while the rest of the Timberwolves starting lineup scored a combined 24 points. The Minnesota bench, Rashard McCants, Randy Foye, Craig Smith, and Ryan Gomes combined for 61 points to help keep the 1-6 and struggling Timberwolves in the game as long as they could.

- Tim Duncan: 23 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 blocks
- Al Iverson: 30 points, 9 assists, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals

- Jerry Buss says he will pay whatever it takes to keep Kobe in LA. I like the sentiment made by Buss but I really don't see Kobe getting $50 million a year to be a Laker.
- Antonio McDyess was waived by the Nuggets today. Look for the Pistons, Celtics, and Hornets to come calling in 30 days when McDyess can sign with another team.
- Hall of Famer Dave Bing thinks that the Pistons should bring Isiah back. "I absolutely would like to see him come back, that's where he made his mark," Bing told The Post while visiting New York to gain David Stern's support for the February election. "There's a lot of love for him in our city. They'd wrap their arms around him." Well yeah, until he ran the Pistons into the ground like he did the Knicks. I am Jubanator14 and I don't approve of that message.
