With his 31 points, LeBron James became the youngest player, at 23 years, 324 days, in NBA history to score 11,000 points. LeBron has the Cavs clicking on all cylinders during this 8 game winning streak they are currently on while showing that he might just be the best player in the NBA. LeBron added 8 rebounds and 4 assists to his 31 points while perhaps giving Nets fans and good buddy Jay-Z a preview of what could be there every night after 2010. Mo Williams and Delonte West added 16 apiece. So the Cavs improve to 9-2 after their 1-2 start and look like a force to be reckoned with in the East.

Golden St. 111 Portland 106 Everyone who said that Greg Oden was a bust and can’t play might want to take that back. The rookie center scored a career high 22 points and pulled down 10 rebounds but it wasn’t enough to overcome Anthony Marrow, the undrafted rookie from Georgia Tech that has come out of nowhere to be an overnight sensation. Morrow followed up his 37 points performance with 25 more tonight while Stephen Jackson added 20 points, 10 in the 4th, as the Warriors were able to put away the Blazers. Brandon Roy continued his solid play with 22 points and 9 assists but it wasn’t enough as the Blazers dropped to 6-5 while the Warriors improved to 5-6.

Los Angeles Lakers 116 Chicago 109 Pau Gasol had a huge game as the Lakers continued to simply outscore everyone they have played, except the Pistons. Gasol scored 34 points, 18 in the 1st quarter and in doing that he became the first Laker not named Kobe Bryant to score at least 18 points in the first quarter of a game since Shaquille O'Neal had scored 18 on March 21, 2003 vs. the Celtics. Andrew Bynum added 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks as the Lakers just dominated the Bulls inside. Kobe did score but “only” had 21 points in addition to 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Derrick Rose continued to show why he was the correct number one pick over Michael Beasley. Rose scored 25 points and dished out 9 assists while only turning it over 2 times. Rose is really coming into his own running the show in Chicago and the Bulls clearly made the right choice for the future with Rose.
