Kobe Bryant scored 25 of his 27 points, including the game winning 10 footer with 24 seconds left, in the 2nd half to lead the Lakers over the Spurs 89-85 in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. The Lakers were down 65-45 with 3:54 left in the 3rd quarter. From the 3:54 mark in the 3rd to the end of the game, the Lakers out scored the Spurs 44-20, while holding the Spurs to 6-23 shooting. Kobe also had 9 assist and 5 rebounds to go with his 27 points. Pau Gasol scored 19 points and pulled down 7 rebounds, while Sasha Vujacic and Vladimir Radmanovic added 10 points each. Phil Jackson is 40-0 in playoff series' when he wins Game 1.Tim Duncan was dominant all night, pretty much having his way with whoever was "guarding" him, scoring 30 points, grabbing 18 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Tony Parker also had a very good night with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists. The final piece in the Spurs Big 3, Manu Ginobili, struggled all night, scoring only 10 points on 3-13 shooting while committing a team high 5 turnovers. Before the game, TNT reported that Manu had ripped the nail off of his middle finger on his left hand before Game 5 against the Hornets, however; tonight was the first night that we really saw any effect on his shooting so far.
