Rebilas-US PRESSWIRESteve Nash is already being pursued by the Toronto Raptors and New York Knicks, both of whom are desperately interested in the veteran point guard and 2-time MVP.

Add the Lakers to the list, as they've started their own full-court press for Nash.

Due to salary concerns, the Lakers would be unlikely to simply sign Nash as a free agent, since they would only be able to pay him about $3M per year, far less than the Raptors' reported offer.

Most likely, it would end up being a sign-and-trade involving Ramon Sessions, who could replace Nash in Phoenix.

The Lakers have been desperate for a veteran point guard ever since they let go of Derek Fisher last year.

Nash would provide the Lakers with a couple more years of legitimate title contention as one of the best distributors in the league would be joining forces with Kobe Bryant, still a great scorer himself.

Do you think acquiring Nash would make the Lakers the favorite in the West? Or is it still the Thunder and Spurs on top?
