Lamar Odom lived the dream, shouted in Mark Cuban's face
Keeping up with Mr. Kardashian would have been a lot more interesting on the night before Easter. Oh, to have been a fly on the wall when Lamar Odom and Mark Cuban engaged in their Saturday night fight.
ESPN Dallas' Tim McMahon has the low-down on Odom's confrontation with Mark Cuban. McMahon says that Mark Cuban stormed the Mavericks' locker room at halftime of Saturday's Mavs-Grizzlies contest, as Mark Cuban is wont to do whenever Dallas is down at halftime. Cuban directed his ire very specifically at Odom, and Odom gave the business right back.
"The crux of the conversation was Mark Cuban asking Lamar Odom, 'Are you in or are you out? Are you committed to this team or not?'" McMahon told ESPN. "Odom reacted angrily, and that's the breaking point as far as Odom's tenure in Dallas."
Odom did not return to the court with the team after halftime, and was absent for much of the third quarter. Odom did not play again in that game, and will surely never do so for the Mavericks again.
Granted, it's hard to pick whom to root for in this fight. Odom is married to Khloe Kardashian, has a reality show with her, and has thrown himself one of the most uninspiring season-long pity parties after the Lakers tried to trade him in the Chris Paul fiasco. This despite his $8.2 million salary, and access to his wife's Visa platinum card.
Mark Cuban, on the other hand, is Mark Cuban -- one of the mouthiest and most histrionic owners in all sports.
The report notes that Odom was habitually late for practice, despite living directly across the street from the Mavericks arena.
Odom is now done for the season. The Mavericks owe him the remainder of his contract, and he cannot be traded or play for another team until after the current NBA season.
No Kardashians were harmed in the locker room altercation between Odom and Cuban.
