Lance Moore; Gameday Performer
If you look at the numbers, you'd be surprised. Moore has been one of the most consistent wide receiver targets for Brees over the last five seasons (with the exception of 2009 when he was limited to just 7 games). He caught 8 touchdowns in both 2010 and 2011 and recorded his most prolific season in 2008, scoring 10 touchdowns and putting up just under 1,000 yards for the season.
This year, he has become 'ol reliable. The slot receiver who will take the route down the middle and leap into harms way to haul in an important 3rd and long. He moves the chains, and every team needs a player who can do that from both the slot and outside receiver slots.
This year, especially recently, Moore has proven once again that he is a prolific receiver that no one seems to talk about. He is even a consistent WR3 option in fantasy football leagues. in PPR leagues, Moore has recorded 7 double-digit fantasy efforts on the season (including tonight through the first three quarters), good enough for 64% of his games.
On a Saints team that thrives in the passing game, Moore has become a very consistent on-field as well as fantasy stud for teams who needed that extra boost from the waiver wire earlier in the season.
Coming into tonight, Moore had 700 yards receiving to go with 4 touchdowns and 9 catches for 20+ yards, which ties his career high set last season. The sky's the limit for Moore as he continues to develop a great rapport with his QB.
