Larry Sanders Out 6 Weeks
Larry Sanders off the court problems have now translated on to the court. Sanders got into an altercation last week at a nightclub, which resulted in a surgery this Monday to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb. Sanders will now miss up to six weeks as a result of the surgery.
“I put myself in a bad situation over the weekend,” Sanders said. “Didn’t make the best decisions down the stretch. I’d like to apologize to our fans here, [Bucks owner Herb] Kohl, who I will take to directly. I’ve talked to the team and I’ve apologized to them, just for shedding a negative light on our team, on our organization. It’s not what we’re about at all, it’s not who we are, it’s not what we stand for. I offer my apologies to everyone, especially the fans. They put a lot on me and count on me a lot, for everybody I let down, I’m going to get better, I’m going to be better.”
The big man was averaging a measly 2.7 ppg and 3.7 rpg, so it is not like the Bucks are missing out on all that much, but when he does return, Sanders is going to have to do a lot more than these numbers to justify the $48 million contract he received this past summer.
