It looks like an amazing push to get Rory Fitzpatrick in his first all-star game may we working. With 1 week to go in the voting, he was 97,500 votes ahead of Chris Pronger for 3rd place among Western Conference defensemen. Scott Niedermayer and Nicklas Lidstrom are 1 and 2 respectively.
San Jose teammates Joe Thornton, Jonathan Cheechoo, and Patrick Marleau hold 3 of the top 4 spots. Joe Sakic and Jarome Iginla round out the top 5 vote receivers for forwards.
Goaltenders Roberto Luongo, Miikka Kiprusoff, and Dallas' Marty Turco look to be holding their own for the top 3 goaltending spots.
On the Eastern side Sidney Crosby, Alex Ovechkin, and Daniel Briere are 1, 2, and 3 for the Forward position.
On defensive, Brian Campbell, Buffalo, and Sheldon Souray, Montreal are theEastern conference's top 2 vote getters. Buffalo's Ryan Miller, New Jersey's Martin Brodeur, and Pittsburgh's Marc-Andre Fleury look to participate in the 2007 NHL all star game as teammates in net.
