LeBron James' dunk against the Bucks on Tuesday wasn't quite from the foul line. His full foot was over the line, in fact, as you can see in the video above, and the screen shot below:

The fact remains, however, that LeBron was damn close, and he did this in a game situation, not in a dunk competition, where he would have been completely uncontested, and free from the restraints of rules like dribbling the ball, etc.
Michael Jordan dunked from the foul line, but he did it during a dunk contest. Take away the distractions, move LeBron back a foot and a half and I think he could definitely pull it off. He made this one look so effortless, and he has the combination of size and athleticism that makes it a distinct possibility.
I'm hoping that the NBA stops putting out no-names in the dunk contest and brings in guys like LeBron to spice it up a bit. I'd love to see what the man can do, since he has won dunk contests at every level except for the NBA. Remember the epic battles between Jordan and Dominique Wilkins? We may never see anything like that again, and that's unfortunate.
We'll see who gets the nod this year, but I'm hoping it's LeBron, so we can see a true foul line dunk from him. I'm waiting, NBA. Your move.
