LeBron James Now an Executive Producer
LeBron James is now taking his talents to television production. James is partnering up with Starz and Tom Werner, the producer of “The Cosby Show” and “Roseanne,” in order to produce a new sitcom called “Survivor’s Remorse.”
The half-hour show is about two people from inner city Philadelphia who become famous and the struggles with dealing with their newfound fame.
''When you make it out, everyone expects for - they automatically think that they made it out and it's very tough for a young, African-American 18-year-old kid to now hold the responsibility of a whole city, of a whole community. I can relate to that as well,'' said James. ''I think the juxtaposition of great wealth - and then you go back to your home in Akron and the neighborhood that you come from - the chasm is a fairly big one, and I think it's some very interesting story material,'' he said.
While fame may be something that your average person dreams about, fame also carries a lot of weight, pressure, responsibility, and criticism. It isn’t something that everyone should necessarily desire so readily. And this new show produced by LeBron James chronicles some of the reasons why being ordinary, sometimes is just better.
