Lebron James has an epic performance against the Boston Celtics
Lebron James decided that the Miami Heat would not lose Game 6 to the Boston Celtics at the TD Garden. In order to make that decision happen, James had to produce a performance for the ages.
Lebron scored 30 points in the first half on 12 for 14 shooting and ended the game with an absurd stat line of 45 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assist.
After two days worth of media scrutiny and most analysts predicting a Boston Celtics Game 6 win, the Miami Heat head coach had full faith in his team.
“When you’re around a group long enough you know the looks that you get, and I liked the looks I was getting back at me yesterday” said Miami Coach Eric Spoelstra.
The series will now move to Miami for Game 7 on Saturday night.
“The good news is we get to do it again. That’s the good news. The bad new is we have to do it on the road. We’re comfortable on the road- we’ve been comfortable. But we’re going to have to play a hell of a game” said Boston Coach Doc Rivers.
The only other player in NBA history to put up a similar stat line to James’ 45, 15, and 5 night was Wilt Chamberlain during the 1964 divisional playoffs verses the Hawks.
“I’m in a great place right as far as the game of basketball, on the court and off the court, so I’m looking forward to Game 7” Lebron told the media after the game.
Twitter Reaction:
Fans had a lot to say about Lebron’s epic night, here are a few of the best lines from Twitter.
“Lebron chocked at choking”, one tweet joked (or was he being serious?).
“Lebron could run into a burning home, drag five people out, go back save the pets and people would still be upset he didn’t save the house”
“Remarkable self control by lebron that he didn’t open his press conference by giving everyone the finger”
