Leon Draisaitl on his way to be the highest paid German to be drafted
The chances favouring of that happening are actually pretty strong and his talent has brought many parties on his trail and all are interested in him. His ranking on NHL Central Scouting midterm list is at No.2 and is the most regarded player to be entering the draft. There are players who really respect him and even coaches can see he has a very bright future and all the potential they dream in a player.
Central Scouting's Peter Sullivan said that he was the perfect balance of speed and talent in one package.
"You want to talk about a miniature Jaromir Jagr with a Doug Gilmour-type intensity, you've got him right here," Sullivan said on NHL.com.
For now Pittsburgh Penguins forward Marcel Goc who was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in 2001 Drafts in first round at No.20 is the highest paid German to be ever drafted. So it would seem that he has some tough competitor to take that from him now.
Draisaitl said that he would be greatly honoured if he becomes the highest paid German to be drafted. He said he was looking forward to the draft optimistically and hoped he would do well in them.
"It would be a huge honor for me [to be the highest German drafted]," Draisaitl said. "We've had some really good hockey players coming out of Germany, and being the highest drafted would be a huge honor. I'm really looking forward to that and hopefully I could get it done."
