Let's get it started (ha) let's get it started in here...

So, while Thunder over Louisville is the "official" beginning of the Kentucky Derby Festival, tonight is the night that officially begins it for me.  Tonight is the start of almost daily activity leading up to the fastest two minutes in sports history.  Tonight is the Balloon Glimmer.  A few of the hot air balloons scheduled to race in the Rush Hour Race tomorrow morning are gathering on the waterfront to show off how beautiful they are in the twilight hour.  Tomorrow night is the actual Balloon Glow, where all the balloons participate in the twilight show.  On Saturday morning, two events take front and center:  The "original" balloon race and the KDF marathon/half marathon.  The marathon/half marathon runs within a block of my house and I usually try to volunteer to pass out water to those who are more courageous than I.  I'll see if I can get pics of some of the events up before the next couple of days are out.  I'm getting goosebumps cuz the second Saturday in May is almost here!!!!

I'm going to the Derby this year. Gonna stand in the infield for the first time. Should be fun, the parts I remember that is.
