As great a story as Kevin Smith and his 2,448 rushing yards have been, Sylvester Croom leading the Bulldogs back to a bowl game is an even better one as far as I'm concerned. He deserves plenty of votes for coach of the year. The aforementioned Smith needs 180 yards to bring the single season record which is another good reason to watch, although Barry Sanders only need 11 games to record his total while this will be the Golden Knights 14th.
Why I'm picking Mississippi State: Kevin Smith will get some yards, but I expect the Bulldogs to keep his reasonably contained and out of the end zone. I like MSU to decisively win the turnover battle and get a defensive touchdown to boot.
