Lions Ode to Millen
5/21/08

I saw this on a poll and had to steal it! It's brilliant!!

Twas the week after Christmas
In two-thousand one
When Lions fans thought
The losing was done

Ford hired Millen
And all through the city
Lions fans hoped
For a team not so shitty

The old group was out
Their days were through
First Matt came, then Marty
The staff was all new

With open arms we met
The M & M crew
Detroit couldn't wait
To see what they'd do

Well they lost, then they lost
And then lost some more
They'd come nowhere near
Restoring the roar.

We blamed Charlie and Joey
And Barry for leaving.
We mostly blamed Marty
for the underachieving.

His play calls were bad
His record was worst
With him at the wheel
We'd never be first

Matt picked the wrong guy
So Marty was Fired
And amidst much fanfare
Mariucci was hired

Now three years have passed
and the story's the same
Loss after loss
game after game

Now the payroll is high
The performance is low
The morale is as dead
As Vincent Van Gogh

One GM, three coaches
And three quarterbacks
And all but Matt Millen
have gotten the axe

Millen blamed Mooch
but he doesn't see
the problem goes deeper
the problem...is he.

What Matt hasn't learned,
And won't learn, it seems
Is that collections of players
Are not always teams.

And so, Mr. Ford,
There is only one way:
To salvage this team,
FIRE MILLEN TODAY!!
