Lions pamper female fans with opening of fashion-forward boutique

After the Dallas Cowboys treated female fans with an opening of Victoria’s Secret Pink shop in the grand Cowboys Stadium, the Detroit Lions too are reaching out to the segment of population that makes up 45 percent of NFL fan base.
The Detroit Lions will open a one-day Style Lounge Boutique at before the game against Seattle Seahawks at Fort Field this Sunday. Although the event is primarily targeting the female fans, all Sunday’s game ticket holders can visit the Style Lounge Boutique which will remain open throughout the game and afterwards at the Gate A Party Deck.
The Style Lounge Boutique project was initially introduced by the NFL during a New York Jets’ home game last season.
“What we found was that we were changing the way people looked at female products,” stated NFL vice president consumer products retail development Natara Holloway. “We wanted to surprise and delight our female fans.”
Due to the overwhelming response NFL received from the opening of the first Style Lounge Boutique, the league decided to collaborate with 10 willing teams to bring the event to their homes this season. The Detroit Lions are the third stop for the Style Lounge Boutique, with seven NFL teams left to host the event this season.
“The response was so overwhelming that other people saw that and said we have to have that at our stadium,’’ explained Natara Holloway. “The 10 that we’re actually doing this year, the clubs approached us about bringing it to their club.”
The Detroit Lions Women’s Association, comprising of wives of team front office personnel, coaches, players and other female members of the staff will host the Style Lounge Boutique this weekend. The wife of Detroit Lions president Tom Lewand, Suzanne, was impressed with the Style Lounge Boutique’s launch last year and had been since pushing to bring the event to Fort Field.
“We’ve been working with Suzanne on this one for a little while, she’s been so great, she’s such an advocate for the women fans here in Detroit,’’ stated Natara Holloway. “She was like, ‘I’ve got to have it and I’ve got to have it right.’”
“This is all her working, she’s done a phenomenal job.’’
The Style Lounge Boutique was opened to the press and wives of Detroit Lion’s players a day prior to its official launch on Sunday.
The Style Boutique Lounge will feature a variety of female fan apparel and accessories ranging from Detroit Lions T-shirts, boot, jackets and hats to specifically designed jewelry by LogoArt. Clothing items from All Sports Couture will also be available besides a new collection of female fan logo shirts and halters etc. There will also be specifically selected products from the Somerset store that can be matched with the NFL apparel.
Stylists from Neiman Marcus have been enlisted to help customers create different looks. Detroit’s own professional stylist Eva Scrivo will also be present on at the launch of Style Lounge Boutique to drop a few hair and make-up tips for the Detroit Lions female fans.
Natara Holloway claimed the stylist will try to help incorporate the merchandise available at the Style Lounge Boutique into everyday wear.
A DJ and free silver and blue manicures will also be available at the Style Lounge Boutique.
However, the men haven’t been forgotten in all this hassle since the event will also feature a fit technician for the NewEra hats.
