Liverpool fans see red, as Americans secure boa constrictor grip on the english club's ownership
by Barca4ever

As if the woes of the Liverpool fans weren't enough, after having their cages rattled by Havant, a new enemy has surfaced in the form of the American duo Tom Hicks and George Gillett. Witnessing the events that took place with Manchester United when it was purchased by the Glazers (another american entity), the Liverpool fans were skeptical about the intentions of Hicks and Gillett, for the future of the club. Their worries we laid to rest when the initial deal was made with the Americans.....OR SO THEY THOUGHT. With recent unrest concerning the refinancing deal of the american owners with their respective banks, which will give them even more control over the club, Liverpool fans probably wish they could turn back the hands of time. Some critics see Liverpool falling into more debt than the current league leader, Manchester United. Others claim that the Americans will hike up ticket prices, marginalising the grassroots supporters, and use the money earned to fund their own interests back in the U.S. As Liverpool fans, at least the fans in England, seethe with ire over this latest development, only time will tell the result of this match up.

american ownership aside, i find it interesting that the fans are so supportive of rafa when he has managed to get this team to perform below expectations.  true the players are also to blame, but one could say that rafas bizarre rotational scheme has had a lot to do with that as well.  what liverpool fans need to be doign right now is asking for a more competent manager and a more consistent side.  but i wont be singing that song too loud, i love to see them sliding down the table.
