Liverpool frontrunners for PSG winger Jeremy Menez
A recent rise in interest for Paris Saint-Germain forward Jeremy Menez has attracted a number of potential suitors for the 25-year-old France international. Liverpool are speculated to be the frontrunners for Jeremy Menez, who has proven to be an asset in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad in spite of being shifted to the bench.
Rife rumors suggest Liverpool are preparing a £6 million bid for Jeremy Menez this summer. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers plans to deploy Jeremy Menez on the left wing, which has already tested Raheem Sterling, Suso and Stewart Downing.
With five goals and 11 assists in 34 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain this season, Jeremy Menez appears to be a diamond in the rough. The arrival of Lucas Moura has restricted first-team action for Jeremy Menez, which is why the Frenchman is eager to find an exit route from Parc des Princes.
Earlier this season the agent of Jeremy Menez, Jean-Pierre Bernes revealed his client was on the brink of moving away from Paris Saint-Germain. Jeremy Menez’s contract is set to expire in 2014, which means Paris Saint-Germain will try to sell the forward this summer rather than lose him for free later.
“I need to feel trust, and the day I will not feel it again, we will have to find a solution. We will see at the end of the season what they (PSG officials) want. Everyone has to make efforts, and maybe I have to do much more,” Jeremy Menez told Sky Sports in reference to his away move.
Paris Saint-Germain manager Carlo Ancelotti remains undisturbed by Jeremy Menez’s transfer saga. The former Chelsea boss believes the French winger should leave his club if he is unhappy with his stay.
“The transfer market is over, Menez has to stay here. If he is not happy in June, he could ask to leave, as others players did. He is an important player for our team, but competition is logical in great teams,” Carlo Ancelotti said.
