Liverpool’s Director of Football Damien Comolli is planning to make a couple of intelligent signings in the summers. In a recent interview, Comolli revealed an interesting buy list he will go after in the upcoming transfer window.
Sources have now revealed that the best players on the list are from Nou Camp. Moreover, Comolli’s top priority would be to sign in Barcelona’s latest prodigy Cristian Tello. The 20-year-old Spaniard will be out of contract at the end of the season, therefore Reds have a strong chance of signing him in.
However, Liverpool will have to face competition from Valencia, Malaga and Benfica if they want to bring Tello to Anfield. Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola wants Tello to stay with the Catalans but the youngster has been demanding more time in the first team.
Guardiola has promoted him from the club’s B team and given him right caps in the last three months. According to reports behind the curtain negotiations have already begun and Barcelona is ready to sell him off rather than risk losing him for free at the end of next season.
The other big name from the Barcelona team that could don a Red jersey this summer could be Seydou Keita. Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish is planning buff up the midfield in the summers. His plan of action includes signing a veteran that could help the Merseyside club into Champions League once again.
Keita just recently revealed that he is “flattered” by the interest Liverpool has shown in him. The 32-year-old Malian defensive midfield, who has been in search of regular first team football, stated that he is ready to play for Liverpool.
Tello and Keita will be part of Europa League rather than the Champions League next season, but they will be the key to bring Liverpool back on track for European glory. Dalglish will have to cough up as much as £20 million for Tello, but on the bright side Keita’s transfer will be for free.
