Liverpool set to outbid Juventus for PSG’s unsettled forward Jeremy Menez
Liverpool are eyeing a shocking move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Jeremy Menez. The 25-year France international has been a useful tool for Carlo Ancelotti this season, but with the Italian looking forward to adding more star players to his squad, Jeremy Menez has a growing fear of being overshadowed at the French club.
According to the Daily Star, Liverpool are considering a £6 million swoop for the French winger. Jeremy Menez has five goals and 11 assists under his belt in 34 appearances this season. The arrival of Lucas Moura has restricted Jeremy Menez’s first-team action, which is why the Frenchman is eager to move out of Parc des Princes.
Jeremy Menez’s agent Jean-Pierre Bernes just recently hinted about an away move. Jeremy Menez’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain runs out in 2014, therefore the Ligue 1 leaders will try to negotiate a deal rather than lose him for free next summer.
Earlier this season, Jeremy Menez confirmed he could leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season.
“I need to feel trust, and the day I will not feel it again, we will have to find a solution. We will see at the end of the season what they (PSG officials) want. Everyone has to make efforts, and maybe I have to do much more,” Jeremy Menez told Sky Sports.
Parc des Princes boss Carlo Ancelotti is unfazed by Jeremy Menez’s threat to leave the club. The Italian manager is ready to sell off the winger if he wants to leave in the summer.
“The transfer market is over, Menez has to stay here. If he is not happy in June, he could ask to leave, as others players did. He is an important player for our team, but competition is logical in great teams,” Carlo Ancelotti said.
Liverpool will have to fight with Juventus over the services of Jeremy Menez. The Serie A leaders have been linked with the former Roma player for over a year now. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes Jeremy Menez will be a useful addition to his attack. The Anfield boss is expected to outbid Juventus for the Frenchman’s services.
