About Me:
I am currently a majoring in Music Business at SUNY Potsdam. Other than spending time in school I of course enjoy spending time on Faniq and watching NASCAR and the best team in baseball, the New York Yankees.

Look out, Kyle Busch might win all three, and NASCAR in Minnesota?

After winning the Craftsman Truck Series Race Wednesday night, Kyle Busch is 1/3 of the way to a 3 race sweep at Bristol.  He'll have to win Friday night in the Nationwide Series, and Saturday night in the Sprint Cup Series to complete the sweep.  The way he has been running in every series, the only thing that could hold him up is the fact that there will be 43 cars squeezed onto the .533 mile oval for 250 laps Friday, and 500 more Saturday.

There has been a proposal for an enormous Motorsports Park in Big Lake, MN.

As conceived, the complex would have a -mile-high banked paved oval, a 1-mile flat paved oval, a quarter-mile drag strip, a 3/8-mile oval dirt track and a 100,000-square-foot exhibition and convention center.

If all goes well, the first full season could be in 2011.  Currently there isn't much in the way of NASCAR in that area of the country, so this could be a really cool thing.  Since it's relatively close to Canada, maybe it will also help to bring in a new crowd into the sport.

Don't forget about these guys.  The early NASCAR pioneers feel that they don't get the recognition they deserve.  Seeing as though NASCAR has no pension system, and nobody has ever heard of these guys, I think they have a right to be angry.  Maybe it's time to give them the recognition they deserve.  (1983 & 1984 Nationwide Series Champion Sam Ard is pictured)

Useless NASCAR news:

Drew Carey has been named Grand Marshall for next weekend’s Sprint Cup Series Race at California.  He's a big NASCAR fan, a great guy, and an awesome host on "The Price is Right."  Good choice!

On August 22, 1969, Richard Petty earned his 100th career victory in the Sprint Cup Series (Grand National Series at the time) at Winston-Salem's Bowman Gray Stadium.
