George Mason, of course.
Those pesky Patriots have put themselves in position tonight to get an automatic bid this year and leave Virginia Commonwealth to sweat through Selection Sunday. The 6th seed in the Colonial Athletic Association tournament upset (if we should even use that term) 2nd-seed Old Dominion yesterday 79-63.
Coach Jim Larranaga lost Jai Lewis, Tony Skinn and Lamar Butler from last year's darlings, but two stars still remain in Folarian Campbell and Will Thomas. The two combined for 30 points yesterday while guiding the team towards the familiar slipper.
This time of the year the teams having fun and playing loose move on. Top seeded Virginia Commonwealth is one of the more efficient offensive teams in the country, but they'll be in the precarious position of facing a team with nothing to lose. I expect VCU to be tight ... and Mason to continue dancing.
67% picking VCU to stave off George Mason
Two other Auto bids are up for grabs tonight:
West Coast - 86% picking Gonzaga over Santa Clara
Metro Atlantic - 65% picking Niagara over Siena
