Artist Kurt Kauper has a unique topic for his latest set of paintings: nude portraits of professional hockey players.The players in Kauper's paintings do not model, he just uses other photos of them for a guide and paints them on fake naked bodies. It's kind of like when you look at photoshopped "nude" photos of Jessica Alba online, except more artistic. And with more male genitalia.
Two of the former NHL players that have been painted by Kauper are Bobby Orr and Derek Sanderson of the Boston Bruins. Said Sanderson, "Hey, you know, he has poetic license, he can pretty much bloody well do what he bloody pleases. I just hope he's a good artist."
According to art critics, he is indeed a good artist. His works have been shown at many prestigious shows, and one painting has sold for $135,000. Don't worry though, there's still one Bobby Orr nude painting left, in case you've got some money to burn.
