Kobe Bryant and Lamar Odom led the Lakers to a 30 point beatdown of the defending Champion San Antonio Spurs in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals. The Lakers controlled every aspect of Game 2 as the Spurs looked over matched and just plain tired. Kobe scored 22, Lamar Odom added 20 points and 12 rebounds, and Jordan Farmar broke out of his shooting slump to score 14 point off the bench. The Lakers shot 55% from the field while holding the Spurs to only 35% shooting.Tony Parker and Tim Duncan were the only Spurs in double figures with 13 and 12 points respectively. Manu Ginobili continued to struggle shooting, going 2-8 from the field. A bucket by Tim Duncan. with 2:14 left in the 1st half, forged the only tie of the game at 37. The Lakers then went on a 9-0 run to close out the half and the Spurs never recovered.
So now the series shifts back to San Antonio where the Spurs have yet to lose in the Playoffs and have won 20 of their last 22 home playoff games. If getting back home and being able to sleep in their own beds can't help the Spurs regain their shooting touch, then this series could very likely be done sooner rather than later.
Game 3 is in San Antonio on Sunday at 9pm on TNT.
