Close Game 7, even OT, but Kings Advance to Final
The reason for all of this? Well, after three excellent periods of hockey, the Los Angeles Kings and Chicago Blackhawks went into Overtime. The action was back and forth, and it all boiled down to a flukey kind of shot, and a rebound. Yes, they reviewed it, but in the end, the goal was a good one, the Los Angeles Kings advance to the Stanley Cup Final, and game number one gets underway on Wednesday, in Los Angeles.
The teams haven't faced each other since November. Each team won a game, in the other team's arena. The teams haven't face each other in a Stanley Cup playoffs since 1981. That was in the first round, and New York won 3 games to 1. In 1979 the teams also met, in the then best of 3 game preliminary round. New York won that round as well, in a sweep.
H owever, the LA Kings are not the same team they were in 1981. Granted, neither are the Rangers. My prediction is that we we are in for one helluva series.
Will it go to seven games? Will LA win, or will New York?
I'm afraid to predict this one.
