Lou Holtz Hitler Comment Apology. Lou Holtz Will Not Be Suspended By ESPN.
Lou Holtz Will Be Allowed To Keep Making Bizarre Historically Inaccurate Comparisons In The Future
READ MORE:
As you probably well know, Lou Holtz made a comment last night on TV that compared Rich Rodriguez of Michigan to Adolph Hitler. Now, you'd think given ESPN's history of Hitler-related-suspensions, that Holtz would be on his way to getting a suspension as well.

Looks like the answer is no.

According to Michael David Smith of Fanhouse and Pro Football Talk, ESPN will no be suspending Holtz.

Instead, ESPN deemed Holtz's forced national TV apology during halftime of the Clemson/Georgia Tech game to be punishment enough. Frankly, I think just watching Clemson play was more than enough punishment, but here's what Lou said to what I'm sure was a capitvated (read: hungover) audience.

"Last night while trying to make a point about leadership, I made an unfortunate reference. It was a mistake and I sincerely apologize. At the time, I tried to clarify my remarks. I'm not sure I adequately did so."

"I appreciate your understanding.
"

And I gotta tell you, that's fine with me. Specifically because if RichRod is the Hitler of college football, then who's the Il Duce? The Stalin? The Pol Pot?

Luckily, because ESPN doesn't deem it necessary to suspend old guys who habitually say ridiculous things, we might be able to get an answer for all of those.

Why does the media continue to protect this disgrace?  They fail to talk about the many programs he brought scandal and allegations/sanctions to following his coaching tenure.  This shameful stain on sports journalism will eventually be exposed, just wait!
