According to the British media, the former Barcelona manager Louis van Gaal has become an object of interest for Liverpool Football Club. The Merseyside outfit is hunting for a new manager who could run the club for the long haul.
So far, Liverpool officials have only come up with hints and rumors about the new manager. By each passing the day the list of available and interested managers grows; is spite of which Liverpool officials have failed to come up with name of Kenny Dalglish’s successor.
The fact that Liverpool is considering Louis van Gaal as their new manager comes as quite a shock. Liverpool owners John W. Henry and Tom Werner had earlier announced the arrival of a young manager.
The Liverpool owners explained that their aim was to bring in a younger manager, who could rebuild the club and take the Reds back to Champions League glory. Louis van Gaal, who has also managed Bayern Munich, is an expert at rebuilding clubs.
The 60-year-old manager, Louis van Gaal can boast about an impressive career. Louis van Gaal has won the Champions League with Ajax and won the domestic league with every club he has managed.
Former England manager, Fabio Capello was also being considered for the manager job at Liverpool but Louis van Gaal is clearly a favorite in comparison to him. Sources have revealed that Liverpool’s managing director Ian Ayre has already engaged into talks about Louis van Gaal’s becoming the new Liverpool manager.
Although, Louis van Gaal was first offered to become the sporting director of Liverpool, the Dutchman prefers to become the new manager of Liverpool.
The list of Liverpool’s potential managers also includes Wigan Athletic’s Roberto Martinez, former Chelsea and Porto manager Andres Villas-Boas and former Liverpool and Inter Milan manager Rafael Benitez.
Swansea City manager Brendan Rogers and Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp have already refused to the transfer offer. Both men want to rebuild their respective clubs instead of joining Liverpool this summer.
Roberto Martinez and Andres Villas-Boas are leading the race to become the new managers of Liverpool. However, no clear predictions can be made. Liverpool officials are expected to come up with the name of the new manager of Liverpool next week.
